The Greater Bay Area is changing how people study, work, build businesses and move between cities. GBA News aims to make that change easier to follow through accessible news, context and practical information. We connect regional developments with the opportunities and everyday decisions that matter to our readers.
The region through its next generation
Youth development is central to our editorial focus. We cover education, careers, entrepreneurship and community participation, asking what new policies, programmes and connections mean for young people. Our aim is to help readers understand the wider context as they explore their next step in the region.

Across the 9+2 Greater Bay Area
Our coverage spans the entire 9+2 Greater Bay Area: the nine Guangdong cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing, together with the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions. We follow the distinct communities, local developments and connections shaping every part of the region.
Our priority reporting areas
Within this region-wide remit, Hong Kong, Nansha and Shenzhen receive particular editorial attention. Nansha is a district of Guangzhou and an important part of our Guangzhou coverage. These priority areas guide our reporting focus while developments across all 9+2 cities and regions remain within our scope.
Our founder and publisher
Founded by Zachary Chan (Chan Pak To), GBA News is a media platform under StarBay Group. The platform focuses on youth development, regional connections and the people shaping the Greater Bay Area’s future.
How we approach information
We prioritise official announcements, public records and other identifiable sources, and provide attribution so readers can explore the evidence for themselves. We distinguish reporting, analysis, opinion and commercial content through clear labelling. Our editorial policy, AI-use policy and corrections page explain our approach to accuracy, transparency and updates.
Language and archive
New reporting and the primary website experience are in English. Earlier Chinese-language articles remain available in a clearly labelled Chinese archive, preserving their original language and URLs as a record of our past coverage.
